You have done a great job. I plan the pressing as much as I do the piecing. Whenever you have seam allowances pressed in the opposite direction - it makes it so-o-o much easier to get perfect corners. You are off to a great start!

While I agree with everyone that it looks great, and I did not "notice" the problem you mention until I searched for what the problem could be, you are asking how you can do this better. If I knew I would tell you as I too would like to improve. I hope someone answers your question: "Was there a better way to do it to ensure my lines matched?"
I do agree that it looks too good to take apart!

It looks pretty good to me. Perfect center point.

I think they look great. I've seen and done much worse in my journey, however, for your next project, one thing that helps me is,pins. Sometimes alot of pins. Then I don't pull the pin out until I'm ready to sew there. Just in time. It works for me and you will find what works for you. Enjoy the process.

It's beautiful! What a great pattern for piecing. I love your fabrics (especially the one in your close up pic).

don't be so hard on yourself, we quilt because we enjoy it not to be perfect. If this site only showed what was perfect there wouldn't be any pictures, as everyone has little booboo's but it is the overall effect that is pleasing and says "look at me", the colors we choose and the patterns we make.
