It is easy to see why he is so happy with it. It is a very pretty quilt!

Very pretty. I have a jewel box started from many years ago that turned into an abandoned project. I should dig it out and at least look at it to see if I want to finish it or give it to someone who will. Thanks for reminding me about it.

It's a beautiful quilt, no wonder he's happy with it. I've been thinking of doing one for the next family reunion, especially since I have all these various size pieces left over from the other quilts I have made. When I showed a similar one to my DH he decided it was too busy for him, but I like it, he likes quilts with fewer colors in a more controlled design. I've challenged myself over the last several years to make "scrap happy" quilts for our family reunions, using fabric that the family members send me, after I choose a color scheme. Try making a quilt with red, purple, orange, yellow, green, black, teal in fabrics with various prints and patterns. They turned out to be beautiful quilts and they can't wait to see what I come up with every other year when we get together. Sometimes it's good to challenge yourself to stretch yourself. I think it has made me a better quilter.

Beautiful quilt...and great backing choice. I love that color combination. And I always love the photos of husbands holding quilts...and his toes peeking out! That's life in Florida!
