If your avatar is an example of your work, I envy you. Keep doing what you enjoy most, life is to short to waste time doing what someone else thinks you ought to!

In a situation like that, I'd leave plenty of room in my own head for the possibility that I was misreading her reaction. Unless she came right out and said "I have nothing but disdain for you because you don't quilt the tops you've pieced", I don't think you really need to worry about it. I've often felt as if someone were judging me or being critical, and later find out that it was just my own insecurity talking --- that person was not thinking or implying any such thing.

This lady is not worth worrying about. I hope you are able to just let her comment go. She sounds like one of the quilt police, and they are not worth worrying about.

Life is too short to let mindless babblings of total strangers get you down. Do as you please (it's all part of the fun of being grown up:)).

I am so sorry you have had to meet such a judgemental person!
It is a pity you do not live closer to me as you could come along and use my Longarm as I rent out time on her so that tops become Quilts

Ach, what nonsense. Quilts are meant to be functional, and since yours are hanging on your walls being beautifully decorative, they are fulfilling their intended function.

That said, if you ever do want to make a three-layered quilt for once, have you considered tying it instead of quilting it? Blissfully quick and easy, and it would give you a few more options for using the quilts.

If designing and making the tops is your enjoyment, well, that is what makes you happy. Does it really matter if you do not finish them, as long as that part of the process is your enjoyment. My favourite part is probably most peoples unfavourite part, and that is the hand quilting.
    Do what makes you happy.
