I get the middle size if I just want the design... you can only safely enlarge/reduce the size about 10%...so keep that in mind...otherwise the design is too dense or to open.

They give you a choice of 3 sizes. Do you just pick the middle size when you don't have a specific project in mind? Your answers are greatly appreciated. They have some really sweet ones I'd like to order. (they can be as addictive as stashes lol) Thanks, Wendy

    I buy the ones to fit my hoops which are 4 x 4 and 5 x 7.

It would depend on the size of the hoops you have on your embroidery machine. Usually there are two size hoops with an embroidery machine. Stay within the measurements of the hoop or it will not work

If it is a pattern I really like I will buy the one that fits my biggest frame and then I might take a smaller one as well. That way I definitely have 2 to choose from.

I agree that it's hard to choose sometimes. If they are on sale sometimes I just get all the sizes that fit my machine. If the design is more expensive then I will choose the one I think I'll use the most. If you quilt or sew for children go to: www.bunnycup.com for about sixty FREE SETS of embroidery designs. The designs stitch out really well and if you get on the mailing list you will receive special emails and sales flyers.

I do the same thing as well.

I myself always buy the biggest, most of the time I put the designs on tote bags, jackets or aprons. Most machine will let you cut the design down by 20%., or enlarge it 20% Also depends on the size of your hoops. I use my 8 x 11-1/2 99% of the time, but it depends on your hoops. I normally only use my 8 x 8 or 8 x 11-1/2.

You can PM with any question that I might be able to help you with.

My machine has hoops for 2 x 2, 4 x 4, 6 x 6, 5 x 7, and 7 x 12 so I can use almost any of them. My favorites by far are 5 x 7 and the 6 x 6 although I have probably used the 7 x 12 just about as much. Also, I prefer to purchase designs that come in multiple sizes as I usually have more than one project in mind for each design that I purchase.

For me I go with the biggest designs that Emb Library has, I use my 8 x 12 hoop about 99% of the time.

Wendy PM me and I can tell you more. I have thousand of designs and I most likely will never use them all. What embroidery machine do you have? I am not always on QB, so if you have any questions that I can help you with, PM me.
