Beautiful quilt! Idon't mind bindings, its quick/easy. The part I hate is cutting pieces.

Binding is the final step and I'm all about finishing it. Sandwiching is my demise.

Why is putting the binding on by hand the "right" way? I'll always done it by machine and think it looks nice. Any seasoned quilters want to answer??

It's just a preference people have...I personally prefer it, but do them on the machine sometimes. I will probably do more on the machine now that I discovered the glue basting method. It comes out great!

Your quilt is so pretty! I have never minded putting the binding on a quilt, because that is the last step to getting it finished. I am not crazy about putting the border on however, especially if I am mitering the corners.

Your quilt is beautiful and quite big. But I guess I'm strange because I like to bind my quilts. This is when I can sit with DH and watch TV because its almost done and I want to get it out of my cluttered sewing room. Now on the other hand, what takes me a long time to do is the pinning or basting of the layer quilt before hand stitching, tying, or stitching in the ditch.

the quilt is lovely. i enjoy hand binding. a trick to perfect corners is to cut the tip of corner of your quilt making the corners perfect. try it once and you will see. i don't know if quilters know of this trick but now i have revealed mine :-)
