Cut it into 1" strips and attach to a handle and make a mop out of it.

Hi rootyr
Question is this a challenge that you have to use the fabric.... or did some one special buy you the fabric...
You have had lots of good feedback...
I would love to know what you decide to do with it...
Happy sewing

If you mixed it with some bright golds and oranges it might not look so homely

With only a fat quarter , you're not going to make much out of it. I was thinking mug rug or candle mat also. You could get some orange and yellow to match and make a doll quilt out of it. Little girls wouldn't care about the color or print. They would just love it for what it was.

I see weather also - a tornado. How about using the twister tool on it?

Well I like it...eye of the beholder I guess. It would be good in a modern block. I would use some gray fabric and shades of yellow and orange.

You say you can't throw it out, but by the time the ice goes off Lake Ontario, who would know if you chucked it in the lake.....give it a little viking funeral. Seriously, there's something about the shape that reminds me of pansies. Perhaps something could be done with applique?

Somebody (I don't remember who) had a saying about, There's no such thing as an ugly fabric, you just haven't cut the pieces small enough.

Do something with lots of little pieces with coordinating colors

Would a kaleidoscope patch be worth the effort?-it might make the layout of the colors more pleasing. I feel your pain
