Rotary Cutter Injury Protection
#44
there is a product called rule steady that I recently purchased that would stop this from happening. It is not cheap and is made in Australia, but there is one US distributor. IF you google Rule Steady, you will find her. It not only keeps your hands far away from your cutter, but it also stops your ruler from moving at all. Pretty cool. Here is a link to the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ibn-n7S6lE

I have a long plastic L shaped stick on guard on my long ruler. only trouble is i was using this ruler and cutting on the unguarded side years ago and yep, cut my thumb. guards and gloves help but those rotary blades are sharp! we all must be more careful.
good luck.
good luck.

Rotary cutter injury
that was the main reason I broke down and got me a Accuquilt .. I haven't hurt myself since. with me being a lefty I would turn the rotart cutter and cut downwards at times and have slipped off the table and cut my top and nicked my belly (more than once) not to mention the fingers... I always was a little klutz..

You need to take Stress tabs with Zinc. You might have to check the ingredients on the back label to check for the zinc. It used to be on the front label but sems to me last time I bought them I had to do a little reading. Dentist told me to take them when I had wisdom teeth pulled and wasn't healing well. I cut the side of my finger off along with part of the nail. We were in this tiny podunk town that didn't even have a vet. Hubby kept telling me I was going to need a skin graft but it healed great and pretty fast. I kept telling him lets wait and see. Hate needles. My family all takes it anytime we have a wound. I have tingles go thru my body any time I use my cutter. It helps me remember to be safe. I do think they make gloves to protect your hands.
