    Our dog is the lucky recipient of the quilts I wouldn't even give to charity! And he loves them.

    I'd donate the top to an organization that does want it and will finish it and give it away.

    I think the idea of donating it to a homeless shelter or domestic violence shelter is a good idea, but to make this quilt a little more attractive use the top as the backing and do something tried and true for the front. Perhaps the idea of giving to someone who will just love the quilt will be inspiration to finish.
