I really like the way the brown border and the blues and golds work together. The brown seems to tone the blues down. I would also bind it in gold.

I mean't dark. The material is actually navy with tiny red medalions.

Of the original materials I either couldn't see them as a large border or there wasn't enough.
Should I go to the store??? I only need about 3 yds.
Thanks ladies

After reading some of the comments below I thought I should clarify there is no brown in this quilt. The gold has a red pattern in it and the proposed border is navy with the same red. They were from the same collection.
All your opinions have been very valuable.

I love it and it grounds the quilt.

I like the border you have chosen and the selvage on the fabric shows how good gold binding would look. Great looking quilt.

Definitely love the brown border. Makes the other colors pop and provides nice contrast. I think a blue border would be a bit dull. Small gold border really frames it nicelyl!

I too like the border It makes the center brown block stand out more but if you want to bring the blues out more then choose something to go with those.

I like the color but I think I might make it a little narrower, to echo the shape of the blocks more. But colorwise, it's great!
