I bought my first FW off eBay 15 years ago. She is black in perfect condition with a case and some attachments. Paid $215 for her include shipping. The next one I purchased for my SIL, a 1950 black featherweight with the case and a few attachments. Paid $175 for her because it was a holiday weekend and bidding was minimal. Thelast one I picked up also on a holiday weekend. Sheas a 1964 light green FW, complete with all parts, attachments, button hole attachment and a nice clean green and cream case. I paid $245 for her. Unfortunately, I knocked her off a table once and broke the case, the latches and the spool pin. Replaced the spool pin, but I could only find a new all black case for her. She is my favorite and I use her more than the black one.

Haha... yes! I just realised I needed to search for "treddle" as well as "treadle" when doing my recent search. Didn't buy a FW but noticed they are listed in Australia at around $600 at the moment!! Sounds like you all did well

I paid nothing for mine. My brother, who had move into an apartment in Sf area, found it being used as a foorstop, gave it first to an older sister. She didn't like it, so she gave to me. I had it tuned up for 20.00. Still works great. But I am thinking of ordering a new foot pedal.

All but one was free. I have four featherweights - #1 is 1964 - present from my mom, #2 & #3 - 1950 & 1953 Centennial edition - gifts from my neighbor and his wife... 1 machine belonged to his mom, the other belonged to his wife's friend. #4 - I got at an antique store for $100...repainted it. All are going to my grandchildren so I can teach them to sew when they are old enough to manage the footpedals.

Love that so many of you got your little ones at such great prices. I paid $200, and #250 for my first 2 black feather weights, sister talked me out of one. Kept Devin (little black one) OK a couple of years later, ah last month, I got Brigit, a beautiful shimmering blue, $600.
zelenka (little green one) a beautiful shimmering green $650., and my Pfaff dealer had one for sale which I bought, Keaira, (little dark one) for $350, black. Only last one came with black case with broken latch, 2 new painted ones came with new singer bags. Have several feet, lots of bobbins, the book on care, and got 2, 1/4 inch feet. Now if they have a beautiful fushia or hot pink one at the quilt show? , , , , who knows, , LOL

I inherited one (of my 2 FW's) from my dad who took it in on trade for his services. He was a lawyer and did lots of bartering in the 50's. I took it to college in the early 70's and made all my clothes with it. Love that little ole machine~1948. My other one I bought at a vacuum store in Moscow, Idaho for $125 in the 80's. It is also a late 40's model and has all the bells and whistles.

Just got one a few weeks ago at a pawn shop in Edmonton AB, Canada. Paid $350. Came with a bunch of attachments, and some extras that didn`t belong to the machine. Its in great shape and I love it.
Thing is I had just came out of a sewing machine shop where they had one for $450. that looked like it had fell of the back of a truck and rolled down the pavement! Both machine and case were in rough shape.
I live far away from the citys and places where you might get one at a lower price. So all in all I did good. God Bless my enabling Dear Husband. He suggested the stole to the pawn shops. LOL He also knew when I laid eyes on it, the deal was sealed!
And oh yeah, this machine was on consignment and the shop owner dropped the price as it had been there too long.
See that as a win all round. Shop, consigner and me!
