Been piecing backgrounds for appliqued quilts and mug rugs. Not my favorite thing to do but now I can applique!! Also just ordered a cart full of applique patterns from Amy Butler. No pieced backs for them! Finished an owl top using the purple and orange blocks. Back to it!

Great idea!! I got one quilt finished completely - even the label. Started another one. It's raining today, so hopefully I can quilt almost all day.

Between yard work and ripping out the old kitchen (I have a beautiful brand new kitchen addition!) I didn't have time to do much yesterday. But today, with my DH at softball, I am cutting out a blue batik quilt, a simple one called Northern Nights. Problem is, I just realized I don't have enough fabric. Oh, well, To the LQS tomorrow!

Pretty pictures. I did fine with the piecing, but when I got to the quilting, my sewing machine decided it didn't want to do that. So, changed from stippling to SID. Machine didn't want to do that either. I've been fighting it all weekend. Gotta finish it today. And get another quilt quilted.

I've had to work all weekend so haven't done any sewing at all. Darn! Have to watch the Hawks game when I get home after 6.
