    One of the easiest designs for me is alternating lower case e's and l's. They work well in borders. I love doing hearts in borders on baby quilts. I've never drawn a pattern on my quilt but sometimes the blocks tell you what they want you to do. Draw your pattern on paper and trace over it again and again and again then do it on a practice swatch. You can sew over that multiple times too. Watch youtube videos. I feel like I can do anything when I watch videos enough times. Good luck! Here are some of my hearts.

    I am really enjoying Ann Petersons Craftsy class on Beyond Basic FMQ. She really breaks down every step. Watch for a half price sale to make it more affordable.
