50! I remember at 41 talking with my 79 year old Aunt Em about "life"...and she asked me what I thought middle age was? I, of course, said 50 or so. And, she smiled and said "Really? How many 110 year old people do you know?" It was a good laugh but such a wake up call. OMG I'm middle aged! Now, at 62, after a serious illness a few years ago, and walking with angels on my way to the hospital, finding protection in the shadow of Their wings through out the illness, and coming home, any age I reach is a good one!!!!!!!!

I knew my husband for a long time before he was my husband he is friends with my boss and her husband so he comes up to the office to visit sometimes. He has always looked waaay younger than he is and he got a magazine and invitation to join when he was around 50. He hit the cieling! called them all kind of no good sobs. we just rolled with laughter. We married a few years later and a few years after that I got one, he had the same reaction!

I'm so glad you wrote this! I just received my card yesterday (Aug 6) and my 50th birthday isn't until Aug 25. I thought it pretty funny that they couldn't wait till I turned 50 and got used to it first! I am anxious to read any posts here about the benefits of membership. Does it really help to have this?

I also keep getting cards to get burial insurance! Yuch! Our guild had a presentation on burial quilts! Actually coffin quilts are quite fetching and could be a source of income! :lol:
