My goal for the year was one a week. But what it worked out to was I had finished only 25 by Sept. 22.

At that time, I decided to "get with it" and start finishing the tops that were piled on my guest bed in the basement. So, I decided to try for one a day, (weekdays)...--I started with the easy ones (baby size--I had three or four) and work up.

I did all the smaller ones (only a few baby/crib size, but I had a few couch sized and smaller twin), and then worked up to the larger ones. I bought a roll of batting and when I almost needed a new one, I went and got another one. (We have a wholesale place about .5 mile from our house.)

A roll of 50 meters of poly batting, 100 grams is about $50. I use spray glue (a can of spray glue is $8--I tried to baste 4 quilts out of a can) plus safety pins to baste--using our 8 ft long dining table to work on (homemade, picnic style--not an antique oak one).

At first I was sandwiching one a day and then trying to quilt it...but quickly decided to go ahead and and try to sandwich two, so I could get ahead a bit. My DD#2 left home, so I had her room to put things in (plus I have a sewing room). Without those three things (a huge kitchen table, an empty DD#2's room, and my sewing room) I couldn't have done it.

I have mostly stopped now as I want to start making some specific quilts now--and not just finishing up my other tops--make my DD #1's wedding quilt and my DS #2 wedding quilt and one for a camp, etc....so while I might sandwich some more, I probably won't pressure myself anymore this year to finish more in 2013. 103 is enough.

I will probably do some more quilting for charity quilts in Jan. 2014, but I think I've put enough pressure on myself. My pile of quilt tops is now "diminished and not overwhelming" if I make myself work on them in Jan./Feb during our long winter days/nights.

I don't watch tv, but occasionally I do join my DS #3/DH for watching something off the internet. I would much rather listen to audio books while sewing.

and oh...I seriously limited myself on my computer time.

I just finished this charity quilt. I had made the top a couple of years ago but it was sitting in the basement. I've been making a concerted effort to finish most of my tops. I had over 70 finished tops.

This is quilt. nr. 101 that I've finished this year.
WOW ... nice quilt for charity. Wherever it finds a home, I'm sure it will be loved! And over 70 finished tops! I'm speechless!
