    The squares are cut 2-1/2" ... finished 2"

    I made one of these about 18 months ago and it sure was fun and it really did go together easily. IF you have piles of 2.5 inch squares, this will eat them up quickly and make a very silly quilt. I gave it to a gall who just needed a little token of her worth. She is still telling me how much she enjoys just looking at the many, many little squares and all the prints and patterns in the quilt. Try it, try it and you'll see you may like it by the sea, with some tean under a tree.
