Going back home to Michigan after spending the winter in our Florida "cottage", so I'm just going to work on small projects before I get everything packed. I have numerous charm packs and scraps so I'm making pineapple block potholders and mug rugs.

I would love to be in my sewing room this weekend but having 22 people/family over tomorrow for Easter meal so kinda busy-lol- I do have a QOV panel I keep looking at trying to decide its fate and 2 more queen size in my head for myself I'd like to piece. Would love to be in on this but can't this time. Have a great time quilters!

jan- those are very nice looking potholders!

I've been cutting squares for the winter/holiday 9 patch block swap. Got 10 bags with 50 unique fabrics, now to cut the neutrals to go with them.

Not sure what you mean by "fold in the bias diamond edges. Would you explain? Oh wait, I think I get it now. Are you appliqueing the diamonds on after the Quilt is layered?

Such fun projects everyone! I did manage to get one row quilted late yesterday. I traced the hearts onto Golden Threads paper and pin it to the quilt. Here is my project, and my "tidied up" happy place! My desk does fill most of the room, but it works for me, I do my cutting on the kitchen counter. Everyone's photos are so inspiring!

Here is the UFO I'm working on... Winding Ways. For the longest time this was just cut pieces in a box. I will do some borders to finish it up, then quilt it.

Oh what great projects completed. The pineapple blocks, penguins, and heart quilting looks great. In fact all of the projects looks great.

I manged to to finish my star QOV block. It’s not squared yet. I need to give back to lady who is over seeing the project. I’m making progress on my 4 binding projects. 1 has binding machine sewn on, just need to hand sew. The other 3 have binding strips ready to be machine sewn to projects. Then numerous hours of hand sewing the other side down. Tomorrow is cutting day, I plan to cut out my holiday 9-patch’s and basket, birds and bloom blocks, and start sewing them if I can.

I don’t suppose we couple have one of these VQW that last a week could we? Just wondering.

Well today we are going to go out to surprise my Mom and take her to lunch, we are about 90 minutes away. In previous years my Aunt hosted Easter and she lived just down the road from Mom, but Aunt is now at her middle daughter's up north. My brother who has just retired and is currently staying with Mom decided to go to see his long-distance GF. Mom isn't doing really great right now, she's got another back surgery scheduled in a couple of weeks and if we call to let her know we are coming out, she will try to do too much. So we'll call when we are about 30 minutes away to give her a head's up. We have a place we'd like to take her but we are flexible if there is somewhere she would rather go, surprise lunch doesn't happen often!

If I get off the computer right now I should have time to pin the other half of the blocks before we leave in about an hour... so ciao, virtual quilters, I've got some real pinning to do.
