Some folks mentioned using them as stabilizer, almost all machine embroidering requires a stabilizer. Alot of our Embroidery group members have asked out moderator about using these sheets as stabilizer. The answer was No. They have told us that the softner can gunk up the machine. Perhaps washing them several times would get all of that out...it is your choice. I use the fabric softner sheet when appliquing, not on the applique, but to stick my needles in....then they glide right through the fabric. I also put a dryer sheet in my car under the seat to freshen my car....they do have alot of other uses.

Another use for a used dryer sheet is to clean the bottom of your iron. I use this a lot...just run a warm iron over the sheet and voila! the gunk comes off and the iron glides smoothly (unless it's really baked on, in which case a new iron may be in order :-) )

Please take this into consideration, especially if doing charity quilts. A lot of children now days have allergies and if you have never seen it believe me you don't want to. Please be cautious when using dryer sheets........
