I am browsing through this post about old quilt tops and was wondering if anyone is interested in Sue Bonnet Sue quilts? I don't think this one is REAL old, but it could have some dating. Please let me know if interested. Thanks!

All of the quilts in our family are vintage. Many were in cedar chests and when my Mother passed, I decided they needed to be loved. My four daughters and two granddaughters all love quilts so we divided them up. There are still a few in the cedar chest (now in storage) but when we quit RVing and have a stick house, they will be hung on the quilt rack. I am repairing several that the girls were given when they set up housekeeping so they have been used for 20+ years. I was buying some material at JoAnn's one day, 1/4 yd. and the cutter asked if I was making a quilt. I replied I was repairing vintage quilts. The "lady" behind me said, "Oh, don't do that. You will ruin the value." I replied, "Value isn't the point, comfort and love is." As I headed to the door, two ladies came up to me and asked if I was interested in repairing some they had. I told them I had plenty to do in my own family.

I have a vintage quilt listed in the classifieds for an elderly friend of mine if any of you are interested. It has been appraised, but she has said she would take any reasonable offer plus shipping.

It is not as beautiful to me as some of these shown, however. And it comes as is....made of men's neckties.

PM if interested.

I'll have to keep an eye out for the listing.

I have two quilts my step-mother made for me and my three kids each have one, all hand quilted and are from about thirty years ago, the one she gave me is the wedding ring and that one is about 40 years old and the other one she gve me is a rose quilt both very pretty, the one she made my daughter has the victorian women on it and all hand quilted, i still have hers here at my house, i'm always afraid she will sell it. When my son had his first son almost 2 years ago, i wrote a letter to him and put it in the quilt and wrapped it up, he had forgotten i still had it. It brought tears to everyone.
