This is the first quilt I have ever made. I did it all by using my 25 year old Kenmore sewing machine except for hand sewing the binding. I cut out and appliqued the Hawaiian Leaf patterns to the top of each block. Then I sandwiched them, stitched the leaf lines and echo stitched around each one. I made this into a fitted bedspread. I completed it on February 9th. My husband and I are enjoying it every night now!

This is not a true Hawaiian Quilt as I did not hand sew the entire quilt. Thanks to my quilting friends (who do hand sew all their Hawaiian Quilts) who helped and encouraged me.
I love your quilt! Did you quilt each square and then connect them?

I also have a Hawaiian quilt on my list and plan to do it by machine. I made a test square using raw edge fusible applique and clear thread, and it came out great. Even washed without fraying!

    Keep up the good work!

Nicely done! A Hawaiian style quilt is on my to-do list. Thanks for the encouragement to do it!
