When I quilted Turning Twenty I stitched a quarter inch from each seam and put an X across the 4 patch. It was not diffucult but I had a lot of string tails to bury.

I just did my first FMQ quilt, it was very nerve racking, but like everyone says, relax and just do it, you can! I found if I turn my machine and quilt I could handle the fabric a little better, here's a pic. Took two tables and a smaller one where the height adjusts in the middle. Can't wait to see your quilt, it will be beautiful!

What a clever way to arrange your tables. Love that idea.
My machine sits too high & I can't raise my chair anymore so I rolled up a big pc. of W&N batting to sit on. Sure helped til I needed to use the W&N. LOL

I am just starting a piece that I hoped to do FM quilting on and have been afraid I will ruin my piece but with all the great posts here I think I am ready. Now all I need is to get off this computer, it doesn't quilt well!

Can I see a picture? It sounds like a good idea.
Like this. I put the ruler down to show that's where you draw the line, then you just sew a wavy line around the line. I drew lines 3" apart on this and did it in both directions. What's nice about this is that you don't have to be perfect and because you're not dropping the feed dogs, you don't have to worry about your stitches on the backside. You do need to use a walking foot, though.
OMGOMGOMG thats just what I want to do on my T20 that I wanted a simple design on. Thank you for posting this!

We expect too much of ourselves a lot of times.
I say, "if somebody puts it up to their nose to look at it and make sure all your stitches are even..." just refer them to us!!

    Have fun quilting!!

Repeat to yourself as you quilt....."My daughter will love it no matter what. My daughter will love it no matter what. My daughter will love it no matter what....." And she will, and you know it! :)
