    I used the fons n porter half square ruler. I cut 4 in. strips and I guess it made 3 1/2 in triangles. One dark to one light sew and you get a 6 in square. Then I just arranged them on the floor to make the diamonds. I cheated when sewing the blocks into strips. Sat on the floor and pinned the entire strip in one go so I couldn't lose my place when sewing! Used a bit more thread, but I figured it was still less than what I go through ripping a bunch of seams!
