I have had this happen also. I remember one time after an extremely active ER shift, I woke up doing CPR on my husband and no he did not appreciate the help. We still laugh at this since I have done it several times since. I guess even asleep, I stay in the RN mode of life.

I hate it when I have bad dreams.. bad is hardly the word for these sorts of dreams, they are horrid. I sometimes have such vivid dreams that I wake up and 'see' whatever it is that I'm dreaming about. Like one time I was dreaming about this huge ugly spider that was going to get me.. I woke up and 'saw' it crawling up from the bottom of the bed.. of course I was screaming bloody murder.. when my DH asked me what was the matter I pointed to the spider and screamed, "It's a spider, it's going to get me".. so he jumped up, smacked that spider real good and then told me it was dead and I could go back to sleep.. which I did... I don't know what to make of dreams that continue even after you have woken up.. I'm guessing that I only think I'm awake. I know for sure I do not like them!!

I've done it--always a scary dream, too--and my yelling woke me up.

I was having a really scary dream and my own screaming woke me up. The clencher to this is when I woke my husband was standing at the end of the bed and told me "you were screaming". I asked him if it ever ocurred to him to wake me up from the nightmare. Seriously....

I love it. Can just imagine what his face looked like when he woke up. You give new meaning "I can do my job in my sleep". My husband is an OR Circulator, can't wait till I can tell him about you. I'm sure glad he doesn't do his job in his sleep.

Daughter and I have really had fun at the expense of my husband and son. They will talk in their sleep and will try and carry on a conversation with you. It's hillarious.

YES and at a quilting retreat in a room with six others...good thing we were already well-acquainted and friends. We still laugh about it.

Not shouting, but I did wake up laughing out loud one night about a year ago. My boyfriend said I was giggling like a maniac for at least a full minute, but it was so funny he just let me carry on. I have no idea what I was dreaming about! Wish I could remember what was so funny!

Yes, I have yelled out in my sleep and woke up shaking and sweaty because it was such a scary dream. I think the worse dreams I have are when I have a dream of something bad happening and not being able to scream or talk. In my dream I keep trying , but nothing will come out.
