Tristan Threads on the internet. I won't pay $11 a spool via a LQS for it...from Tristan it works out to be about $5 a spool.
I buy the door buster and grab bag sets of Aurifil from Tristan. The Genziana Cotton Mako is the very same as Aurifil and I buy that at Tristan's if it is on sale.

Aurafil for piecing but King Tut (by superior thread) for quilting with a matching Sewfine(superior) for the bobbin sometimes. for hand quilting Kimona silk (superior)

one of the great things about Aurifil for piecing is the bobbin goes FOREVER the thread is such good quality almost lintfree (oops, guess that was 2 of the great things)

I use whatever is handy in the color I need. My machine isn't fussy and I often clean out the bobbin case

Has anyone tried King Tut for longarming? I'm currently using Maxi-Lock, but it seems weak.

    Michelle, I love Aurifil!
Sews smoother, fewer tangles & is definitely cleaner than Mettler, Coats, or Gutterman. Harder to find in our area, usually have to mail order.
I will say Connecting Threads sews as well as many others & is much less expensive.

Like a couple of others I like Bottom Line in the bobbin, and often I use it on top too.
