We had a wood radio that stood two feet high on the floor, mahogany with smooth ridges and a glass face that was maroon. By putting your finger in thumb holes you would dial your station. On Sunday mornings we got the Italian hour fron Utica with lovely foreign songs about romance and friendship. My friend was a radio repair man but could not find the tubes to fix it so it is now just a pretty piece to look at. Wish I could hear it again.
