Keep at it! It's so rewarding to see something take shape that you've done all on your own. I recently started a 60 degree diamond star quilt, too.Each side of my diamonds are 1.5 inches. I'm using diamonds to separate, though. I started mine as a travel quilt- something I could do in the car. My parents and in-laws both live about 4 hours away, so a weekend visit allows me about 8 hours of stitiching time. I've also found that I enjoy stitching while watching tv with DH after the DDs are in bed. Very little on tv requires your full attention. I figure each star takes about 1 hour- start to finish.

I am going to call you WONDER WOMAN! I'm working on a hand pieced hexie right now and I have been cussing myself for starting this project. ( I like it and I'm using scraps but it's going to take years to finish). BUT you the WONDER WOMAN, are hand piecing stars and hexies and you are connecting all those "Y" seams! Your quilt will be AMAZING! By the way, my birthday is April 1. Do,you think you will have it done by then? Lol

Oh my gosh!! I have never seen one like this!! I know exactly how you are feeling!! I love the pattern and you are doing wonderful with it!! Keep going by all means!!! Son't give up! It is going to be gorgeous!!

I was able to get 6 stars done yesterday. I have not timed myself. They were all precut a few days ago and matched ( fussy cut or pattern to plain fabric). Will have to time myself. That will help estimating this project! Thanks!

I'm doing a flower garden and have decided that the easiest way for me to get the pieces ready to assemble is to heavily starch with liquid starch the fabric, i press it and then cut. When I finger press over the paper or quilt pati everything looks so nice, stays so nice while i'm piecing. You are doing a wonderful job, and a thought for using the leftover path hexes. I assume I will have some since I just keep making pieces when I'm in that mood, then I assemble when I move onto another mood.
