I had rotator cuff surgery 10 weeks ago, and it is a long, slow recovery, but can be done. At about 4 weeks I figured out I could crochet and made a giant pile of scarves, and last week I made some placemats. Still not ready to tackle anything bigger, but I'm getting there. When I was under doctor's orders to do absolutely nothing, I watched a ton of You Tube videos on quilting feathers. My new placemats were the perfect place to practice them : )

Beautiful quilt, and you did a great job with the quilting! I'm happy to hear you are recovering from surgery nicely.

Love the bright fabric and colors, especially the back fabric. I have a torn rotator cuff, right shoulder of course, and I need to have surgery. I'm in the process of getting all my "ducks in a row" so that I can stay home for several months recovering. I certainly hope I can do some sewing, otherwise I will go stir crazy and might go "Postal" if I can't do something. I am recovered (mostly) from a spinal cord injury last Feb., have worked hard learning to walk and use my arms/hands again. The worst part was not being able to drive or do much quilting when I got out of rehab. Now I'm trying to line up projects I can probably do at some point, but I know it can be a long recovery. My daughter tells me that after what I've been through the past year and how well I did after my spinal surgery this should be a "piece of cake", her words not mine. I certainly hope she's right.
