Came upon this post in a timely manner... took my Janome 6600 in yesterday for a noise in the bobbin area and set up my old Pfaff (hobbymatic) to start some piecing on a new project... As much as I have enjoyed my Pfaff over the years, I have gotten spoiled by the many updated functions of my Janome... especially the automatic thread cutter and the up/down button. I am anxiously waiting for the phone call from my LQS when my Janome is ready to be picked up.

I have the 1600P as well and love to quilt with that. I piece and sew with my Pfaff creative 1471 and love it as well. Neither one skip a stitch, and the backs are as pretty as the fronts, cannot tell one from the other.

I have a Janome 7700 and I love to quilt with my Juki 2010 - nothing like it. Faster, stronger motor, thread cut and needle up and down - it's the bomb.

I only have the older vintage mechanical machines. I primarily use either my 301 or my FW but when I mend hubby's jeans I use an early 50s Japanese made machine. Doesn't balk at jean seams or even at the denim material. Yes, my Singers could do the job but those 2 are my quilting buddies and I can tell hubby that I actually use more than 2 of my machines.
