Well, I'm over 60 and I like it. You might check to see what her favorite color is. If it is in this quilt, I might go with that for the border.

I am in the over 60 crowd as well, and I love the quilt! Your judgement served you well in the making of the quilt, I am certain that the border you choose will be simply beautiful! Your aunt will be delighted!

I'm over 60 and think it's fabulous! Ground the colors with a dark purple stopper and maybe a dark blue border - that will make the center pop and will look amazing! I'd be thrilled if my relative would make one like this for me!

I am an old lady and I love it! I love anything polka dots and I think your colors are lovely. Yes, a great napping quilt and I am sure she will find a place for it.

I bet she'll love it! She named her colors and they're all in this quilt. It's really pretty. If you want to make it extra special, put on a minky backing in turquoise and I'm sure she won't let go of it!

I think it is really cheerful. I'd go for it.

dark colors will tend to make it 'older' looking. Perhaps you could audition smallish borders of dark blue, darkish purple and a third color. I have a weirdness for balance, so I would use a fourth very thin border (maybe white) for the first border to frame out the work. I would do this because you have 4 pieces in your rail fence. It would also make it quite a bit larger by having the 4 borders. I'm in my 60's and think it is a very nice quilt. I would love to show it on my bed! I love the idea of being able to periodically change out room accessories to make the room fit the quilt.

Love the black! really makes the colors pop, and definitely frames out the quilt. Although I will state I tend to go for the "drama" effect and the black definitely says DRAMA! Also love the piano key outer border too! I say go for it use the black. Own it! you can even name the quilt "Grandma Drama" lol .....

I'm 78 and I'd love to have a quilt like yours. My aunt died at age 104. For her birthday, after age 100, I made a quilt for her bed or a lap quilt. All of the quilts had bright colors. She loved the quilts I made for her. I suspect that your aunt would like any quilt that you made for her. A quilt from a niece is special.
