what a creative-urging sewing room, well done!
Another thought about the cutting table, I use one like yours, and even at 5'1" it is too low for healthy back ergonomics.
Get yourself a set of table/bed risers. I paid under $20.00 for a set from the furnishings section of K-Mart.

I have to agree with the quilters who say that sunlight can warp both the cutting board and the rulers. My friend had this happen to her cutting board. It doesn't take much heat and sunlight to ruin plastic things.

You can make table risers by going to your home store and buying plastic water pipe and cutting them to the size you need, and putting them on the legs of your table. Our guild does that for the tables at the building we use for our sewing day.

AngelinaMaria, I love your sewing nook and the pegboards are so well-done and well placed, so even though it's not my sewing space, I am breathing a sigh of relief that the table is the guilty culprit.

Just a thought, did you check your cutting mat?

I love your sewing room and all the windows and light. I sew in a basement paneled room with no windows. Did paint the paneling a light aqua (like whitewashed) so it is brighter but still would love to have your windows. Glad you solved your problem.

I am sorry this has happened to your rulers. Mine have been hanging on peg boards for years and they all lay flat. There must be a heat source warping your rulers.

There must be a heat source that is causing the rulers to warp. I would suggest heating gently your rulers with a hair dryer and then putting a heavy weight on them. Hang them in a different part of the room. Hope you can straighten them out. Good luck.

Sounds like you have plenty of possibilities listed causing your bent rulers. My rulers hang on a hook and have no sun/heat problems. Your room is awesome. I have a 4x4 pegboard above my cutting table but you can no longer see the pegboard because it is so full but couldn't live without it!!!

I'm glad you found the true souce of your problem. I'm happy that you don't have to replace the pegboard after all the work you and your husband put into it. I don't know what the surface of your table is, but perhaps it could be sanded down to make it level.
