I'm thinking of teaching a youngster's class this summer. Teenagers pick this up very quickly. You might consider recruiting by inviting folks and making a small project. (Its all a lot of work but hang in there).

I teach an afterschool class in quilting. This would be so much fun to introduce to my group. Thinking of having a sit and sew once a week all summer with them. They have definately caught the quilting bug!

I joined the modern guild in my area because the traditional guilds that I've found here are clearly not intended for working people--their meetings are in the middle of the work day. I imagine that it must be mostly retired ladies. The modern guild meets on weekends. And they organize their activities via internet. To me, that's the "modern" part of the guild. I only joined recently and haven't yet been able to attend a meeting, but I'm hopeful.
