I was surprised. I thought epson salts was some kind of old fashioned, old-wife's tale. (and I am not all that young at all!)

Do any of you use epson salts? Does it really work? How do you use it? How much salts to how much water?

Thanks!
Epson salts are great. Put a cup in your bathtub and soak...

I use it when I wash my sheers(curtains). Just put a handful in the rinse water and do not wring out curtains, just hang them on the cloths line and let dry. Works about like starch. Come in from outside and look crisp and beautiful.

I have used epsom salts for years in the bathtub for relaxing and soothing aches & pains. There are a number of ways to use it for various things but it really does help that tired painful old body to relax.

Buy a bag of Epson Salts or look at the back of the bag in the store. I use it for my house plants. The salts help the growth of roots and cells. My house plants are beautiful. The bag tells all you need to know.

When I was a child we did not have much money for teacher gifts. My mother would buy cheap apothocary jars and Epsom salts. She would add food coloring and perfume to the salt and put in the jars with a ribbon as bath salt. Always popular and pretty for the teachers.

Central Ohio Quilter,

Certainly Epson Salts work. My massage therapist insists going home and taking a really hot bath with Salts for about 20 minutes. Works wonders especially before bedtime. Always use cold packs in conjunction with hot packs. Put ice on knots and sore spots and hot packs just above the cold pack or just below. Works!!!

I do use epson salts. I run a hot bath and pour some in. Then I take a good soak. It's great after a long tiring day. Also good in the massaging foot tub. I don't measure.

I use it when I dye fabric, because it isn't as hard on the fabric as salt, and I think it gives a better pattern than salt. more reliable, salt is finicky, you have to get it on there at the right time to get the dappled effect.

I aldo use it to soak my weary bones in. Refreshes me, and relaxes me so I can sleep.
