My 221's are Sammi and Sadie. My 222 was made in Great Britain and named Sophie. Since they are all SSSSSingers, their names had to start with S! I love them all - and, yes, they are very, very cute!

I used to have canaries and whenever the machine 'sang' they competed with
it by singing as loudly as they could. If a little bird could shout, that was them! So I called my sewing machine 'Big Bird'.
I also think of myself and my machine as a team and sometimes when I'm setting up I say to ?him ?her, "Hi Team, how much do you think we can get done today? or some other such greeting (I hope this isn't a sign of some sort of mental imbalance!)

My first featherweight came from an antique shop called Alice's, so..... of course her name is Alice and she reminds me I'm in wonderland to have her. My second machine is promised to me by my 85 yr old MIL Edna. She doesn't stir up good memories so I will combine her first and middle name (Mamie), and call that featherweight Emma.

My first black featherweight, I named after my mother and my grandmother who taught me to sew, "AmyRose". My white/green is named after my 8 year old granddaughter who I am now teaching to quilt, "CassieRose".
