Has anyone tried hypnosis? Does it work? I quit smoking years ago via hypnosis but at that time the Dr. said he couldn't creat an aversion to food. I am very willing to try again. Can anyone support this decision?

I've always heard hypnosis for dieting isn't very successful since you have to eat to exist. Not like smoking where they can make you dislike everything about it.

My mother's vinegar many times had the "mother" in it, so I guess it was long enough ago to not be so processed. I just wasn't sure why the organic would be better, but I know the more they process and refine our food, the worse it is for us. I'll have to find some organic vinegar and try it. Her's wasn't for weight control, but to just be healthy, and it worked for her for 96 years.

Just got back from the Y - woo hoo! Just getting there is my challenge, lol. If I can get my butt out the door, I'm good.

I did 30 mins on the treadmill, walking only, but walked mostly uphill. Then I did 20 mins on the bike b/c my kids didn't want to come out of the play place yet, lol.

Now let's see if I can go 2 more times this week, at least. I have a new sewing machine coming tomorrow, so I'm guessing I might not make it...

Wow! That is a lot of water! I think I might float away. How do you quilt if you are going to the bathroom all day?

1. Eat ONLY when you are physically hungry. That means your stomach is growling. If you're stomach isn't growling, you're not physically hungry. You're just eating out of boredom, etc.

2. Drink lots of water - at least half of your body weight in ounces everyday. So, if you weigh 150, you should drink at least 75 oz. of water everyday.

Happy losing!!! :)

I heard today on Today that a good starting point on a diet is to make goals. It was stated people are goal oriented. She said to start with realistic goals and write them down for the whole year. Eight pounds a month is a good goal. That is 2 pounds a week. Easy to do and easier to maintain. Sor she said if you weight 188 (I wish) on January 1, then your goal for February 1 would be to weight 180. March 1 would be to be at 172 and so on throughout the next year. Then write a short diary on how you got there and your plans to keep going. I am going to try that. Seems easy enough broken down in the small goals like that rather than looking to lose 50 pounds.
