    My mom is soing all of her sewing with cones that were bought for the serger and she is not having any problem.

    This site is located in Canada, not Italy. Shipping runs about $20 but if you buy a doorbuster sale, it's worth it.

    I use Rasant, a poly core with a cotton outer layer. Some of what I have is at least 10 years old and it always works beautifully.

    I use Gutterman. Sometimes I buy cotton and sometimes poly. Never sure what to use so I use both. JoAnn's just had all their thread 1/2 off so I got several.

    I just looked at the site which is very interesting but I dont know what to by for my lowly Brother machine. What do you buy and how is it for piecing and quilting?

    I use cotton/cotton for piecing and cotton/poly, poly/poly/ metallic/poly for quilting. Check out Superior.com and look under the "education" tab, Dr. Bob will tell you everything you need to know about thread!!! I use mostly Superior threads, they do cost a bit more, but the quality is, well, superior!!
