I consider a project to be "finished" when it no longer entertains me, unless it's something I'm doing especially for someone. Sometimes a project is finished after I've chosen fabrics (my very favorite part). I may get something half done and find I really am not having any fun. Quilting is one of my favorite activities and if it's not fun anymore why continue. Who know? I may go back and work on an old friend years later, or find it a good home somewhere else! ;0)

I have a lot of projects going on for the first time ever, and to me it does make it harder to finish a project, wish I had just done one at a time like I used to

I think you should what makes you happy, &, what works for you! Who says we have to finish everything we start! At our ages now, it's more important to stay busy & happy. So, if that means more than one project at once, so be it. Maybe you can work out something with yourself, start something new, but in between, work on the project you have going now. Give yourself something to look forward to! Find your own happy medium...

Oh, & about books, I use to make myself read any book I started, good or garbage. Now, I read a few chapters & if it doesn't get any better, it goes in the used bookstore pile to trade in! Life is too short, & who cares if you finish every book you start!.... Some just aren't worth it!...

One at a time for me. My mind gets to cluttered if I have more than one going at a time.

Think of it this way, you quilt, you cook, you clean, you do everything. A lot of these things are done by multiples. Can you cook only one thing at a time? So you only pick one of these to do only one project at a time. Just enjoy it. Hope that made since.

You "one at a time" folks will accomplish MUCH more that I ever will, because I can't seem to stay focused enough on one project to finish it.... I envy that!

I also try to only have 1 project at a time. The reason being, I know me. If I start another project, I won't finish the first.
