My friend (who is an experienced quilter) helped me create the pattern by looking at the picture. Then I cut it out in paper to make sure it all fit. Then cut some scrap fabric and sewed them together to make extra sure.
Since then, I found out the pattern is available in a book by Pat
Sloan. I ordered the book. For one thing, it looked like a good book with lots of interesting patterns. But also, since I am using her design, I thought it was only right to buy her book. I don't think she intended for it to be a "free" pattern.

I'm not into pastels but after seeing so many gorgeous quilts on this site with pastels, I think I could be a convert. Good luck, keep us posted. I tend to make bed quilts most of the time, I'm just not into the runners or wall hangings much, I think I'm too practical and want something I will use. If you want to make a large quilt you just have to stay focused on it for a longer time.Small or large there are all the same just more fabric. When I do a baby quilt it just amazes me how fast they go and I swear I'll never make a large quilt again and I stick to that for a month or so and just can't not make large quilts. I'm a hand quilter most of the time, so my quilts take months to complete. If you need some cheer leaders with your project, you are at the right place.

Nice colors. My very first pieced quilt was a queen size quilt. Made it start to finish in 6 months. Could only stitch in the ditch, but I covered it completely. It was a red and white sampler quilt, turned out beautiful. Good luck.

Ohh, your fabric choices are delicious!
Can't wait to see the quilt pattern, name & where it is sold......
Pics as you progress, I hope.
Measure twice, cut once. Measure each block.... I measure & press as much as I sew or more.

Love your fabrics, should make into something beautiful. Any thought to what block/layout you'll do?

Glad to see you decided to make a quilt. That is what I started with and I enjoyed it...and still have it on the guest bed almost 40 years later! Hope you have lots of fun and that you will show it to us when you finish it.

Just a hint to start - Cut one block out, and sew it together before cutting all the rest.... you want to know for sure that all the pieces are the correct size before cutting them ALL out! Ask me how I know that little tidbit!!
