    Great job -- you are doing fantastic. Like you, I am self taught and agree we learn by trial and error but it isn't a good day if we don't learn something new. Again, great job.

    I think the chickens look fine the way they are. You could have done some type of thread work to put them on the ground if you are not happy with the results. It is a really cute quilt.

    I love this quilt. I think the chickens look as they would in real life, not all lined up with feet on the ground. It does look as if they are out foraging for food in the grass. Great job!

    I agree with Jim---they don't appear to be 'floating' to me. If you had not mentioned 'floating,' I'd have never even noticed the position of their feet. The quilt is wonderful! DON'T TOUCH IT!!!
