This is the first mention I have heard on this board of anyone besides myself having an IKEA machine. I took it to Lithuania and left it there (because it was way too heavy; on the way home I had only one suitcase, as on the way over I had two). They said they would deal with the change in voltage. I had a transformer along when I used it there.

I also refer to my Bernina 820 as "Big Mama." LOL I call my Bernina 440 and my Bernina 430 "The Twins," (It's a long story why I have two near identical machines) and my Bernina 930 is "My best friend."

My first FW is named Spike, because even though he's small, he's one tough looking dude. My second FW is a white/celery which I named Miss Blanche, because her original owner was from Mississippi. My Centennial FW is named Dollar (Centennial, 100, dollar = 100 pennies), and my tan FW is named Sugar. I have one FW which I plan on having painted (purists, please do not faint) and which will be named Lilac, because she will be purple. I also have a 1952 FW (my birthday is December 1952, and her SN date is October 1952) which I haven't named yet. I haven't really used her, but she'll let me know what to call her. My Bernina 440QE is my Baby and my Bernina 240 is Freebie. She was the grand prize in the first ever shop I ever participated in, and I won her. My treadle is named Gadsden (you know, the Gadsden flag "Don't Tread on Me") I never named my first machine (purchased in 1971), and since she is retired, she may never be named.

I just got a Janome 8900-- I've named her Minerva. Last night she was getting "On My Nerva"!! Had to rip some quilting out. Hoping for a better night tonight.
