I've PM'd a couple of you the name of the first one ... but so many of you are asking for it LOL

So, it's called convergence and I got the idea off Pinterest ... here's the link https://www.pinterest.com/pin/353673376963118019/

Here's how I did it (because I have so many PM's from everyone!)

It is four squares in the middle, and then the triangles around it.

I made it so my squares were 12 x 12 each and then just played with the math on an excel spreadsheet to figure out how to do the calculations of the width / length of each block.

I used fat quarters and cut all four at once

Put purple first, then orange, then purple, then orange then cut from left to right (add 1/2 inch to EACH measurement so it ends up 12 inches)

    3 inches wide
    2 inches wide
    1 inch wide
    2 inches wide
    2 inches wide
    2 inches wide

and then did the same thing from top to bottom.

    3 inches wide
    2 inches wide
    1 inch wide
    2 inches wide
    2 inches wide
    2 inches wide

What you have cut is your pattern - take the first four squares and that is the TOP LEFT of the first one for all four blocks, then the second in the row, etc. alternating colours

I played with mine to get the look I wanted - when I had them all done, I didn't like the way it was in the middle, so I took off one row, and put it at the other end LOL

Then you need 2 more fat quarters to make the triangles for the edges.

    I hope that explains everything!

And thanks so much for all the wonderful compliments!!!

You said you were adding a 10" border and using your embroidery machine to do a design. How do you add the design to the border? I have a embroidery machine also but have never used the designs on a quilt. Do you add the designs to the border before it is attached to the quilt? Thank you! Your quilts are lovely.

Wow I love those. I especially love the first one. I didn't realize it was a convergence quilt until you said so. I have done several and used them as a background for appliqué. I would never have thought of setting it like that. I might have to make one this week while I am off.

You are soooo talented. I love them all. What do you call "complicated" compared to these awesome quilts? LOL

The border that I bought off of secrets of embroidery doesn't have a lot of stitches, and it's an endless border, so I will be "quilting" it through the whole quilt. Some of the borders that I do on my quilts have too many stitches, so I only do them on the top of the quilt with stabilizer behind it. When you do it on the whole quilt, you don't need stabilizer!

For me, complicated is "smaller" pieces of fabric. Or designs that require more patience. The ones with the triangles for me are a "bit" complicated because there is very little room for forgiveness, so it forces me to work slowly and with patience!

I am VERY impatient LOL and simply don't have the desire to spent months on a quilt. I don't mind a month on making a quilt top, but some of the quilts that I find amazing would take me about 2 years and I would have to quit my job!

Also, I don't like to work on more than one project at a time LOL
