    Not sure of the color in the background fabric, on my screen, it appears blue, I see some of the posts are saying gray, purple........Anyway, I would go with a darker shade of whatever the color of the background is.

    I agree that the black seems a big harsh. The yellow is nice if you are looking for a blending color. I might audition a dark grey - framing the blocks but not as harsh as the black. Again, it depends on what you want the sashing to do.

    I personally like the black myself. Your blocks are beautiful, they are going to make a beautiful quilt.

    I like the yellow. I wonder if a darker gray would make it washed out. Maybe a darker blue even though the background is gray. Take a plunge use a yellow!
