I used to have more time to sew before I joined the Board. Now I spend half my time at the computer keeping up to date.

I do try to do something everyday even if it is only 10 minutes before I go to work. I am lucky enough to have a sewing room where I can leave projects mid-stitch when it is time to leave for work.

Okay, where'd you hide the cameras? That sounds just like my house! I have to wait until they're(2 girls, 17 and 12) in school to get something done, but then SO many other things come along that need attention... I just try to sit and sew a little when I can fit it in. Ballpark, I might get 5-10 hours a week for sewing. Today was a good sewing day because they went back to school after 2 snow days! WOO HOOO! I was able to recharge my creative battery for 4 quiet hours :)
and people look at me funny when I say "wooo hooo....have the house to myself for 2 whole hours!" as soon as they are all out the door I head straight to the sewing room....and I am sooo bad, I don't even answer the phone sometimes!
i work btwn 50-60 hours a week, but a couple times a month my dh goes out of town for work for a couple nites..... the house to myself..what a treat...i will spend until midnite or later in my sewing room...which makes that alarm going off @ 430 tough, but worth it every time!

I mostly sew on the weekends; weekdays are usually too full of working, shuttling teenagers various places, various home management. But I must say that because we've been watching the Olympics so much at night, I have been sewing every night - brought the machine upstairs and am sewing while I watch with the family - can't just sit and watch and do nothing, now can I?

Friday I sewed for about 6 h, Sat 10 h, Sun 10 h. I don't always sew that much at one time. Boy was my back hurting. If I'm not sewing, I'm teaching it or talking about it.

This week I have sewed about 6 hrs/day. Until a few weeks ago my sewing machine sat all by itself not being used. I have the bug to sew back and am enjoying quilting.

With a full time job, I don't sew as much as I'd like to. But I've learned that productivity doesn't necessarily require a lot of time. Years ago I read the Nancy Zieman 10-20-30 Minutes to Sew book, and since then I divide my projects into time chunks. I'm amazed at what I can accomplish with even a few "chunks" of time! They really do add up.

Not enough!! If I sew first thing in the morning, I usually do it all day. Not a good thing (for the house!). If I sew at night, I usually stop because I get so frustrated not being able to see well enough. My lighting is not keeping up with my failing eyesight (beginning cataracts). So mostly I do sew in the afternoon and sometimes in the morning. Sunday afternoon (or anytime there are ballgames on TV) is when you may find me sewing or cutting.

And please, shall we NOT talk about dirty floors or dusty furniture and ceiling fans???!!!

retired and a bit bored since my DH doesnt get off the couch much so I sew alot. Today I came out to go to the bathroom and he was cleaning my window shutters and took apart the vents on the stove and cleaned them so I just went back to sewing. I cleaned for 30 some years and worked so I dont feel guilty. Its the only excercise he gets. Jean
