Please, don't give scraps to the birds. Not only can it get wet and make the baby birds sick, but they can get tangled in it and choke to death. Better to throw them out. Edie

As several others have said already, this is NOT a "cool" idea. It can mean death to baby birds in the nest and to adults who swallow the scraps in transit or because they think the brightly colored snippets are bugs. Please do not put fabric or yarn scraps out for birds (dryer lint is also a big no-no). Use grass clippings or twigs instead.

If I tried that, my pup would have them all over the yard in half an hour. :-)

You should make "Crumb" quilt blocks! Bonnie Hunter has great instructions for making what she calls "Crumb" quilt blocks out of the TINIEST scraps. It looks like a blast! I can't wait to try it myself! Here is a link to the instructions: http://quiltville.com/crumbs.shtml (By the way, your colors are gorgeous!)
    Have fun!!!

    Hi,
I had heaps of these kind of scraps, and I was ready to part with them, when I've seen a video of back-poarch quilting and they created so called snippets pictures with them. I started to make them and after the first one everyone wanted one, so I run out of scraps. It is so easy to make them and you need small pieces even to chop them up smaller. Great creative quilting. I will try to find the video, as I did not save it, I did not need it it was so easy.

I have small scraps that some ladies have sent, and I am going to sew them to each other to make bigger pieces of fabric, some of mine are as small as 3/4 inch. small pieces of batting I use in my applique. I use as much as possible, as I don't have money to buy fabric. God bless. Penny
