Oregon has both Hobo & Recluse spiders. Both can leave nasty results on the skin. I've seen some results from those spider bites posted on the internet. Not good!!

Hobos don't climb trees and brown recluse don't either. They would more likely be in the house...I used to have them in Spokane WA (Hobos) In fact...what kind of spider lives in a pine tree?
OK I'll google it...a person gets lazy here because there are experts in so many things.

"I have pine trees in my front yard and there is a lot of regular smallish to medium sized spiders that seem to have moved in. I wonder if these spiders are all the same family and the pine trees are what's attracting them? Maybe the couple of big ones were just freakishly big but belong to the family of spiders that occupy the trees? The branches of the trees are very close to the porch and they often build webs overnight that cross the path out the front door and through the entrance to our patio. The webs are thick strings that almost feel like thread. Thickest webbing I have ever felt."

I have been googling for an hour and the closest I have found is the orb spider. The tube web can come from a tree straight down to the ground. And guess what? YOu can entice the spider out by using a small stick and vibrating the web. ONly works at night because they are nocturnal. DOn't think so...... And they grab their prey from inside and pull them in. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEk.ANyone else?
