I use single strand of hand quilting thread and take little stitches, but double thread would work fine too and give it a little extra strength

Please advise - when sewing binding to the back of the quilt after machine stitching it to the front, do you use double or single thread? This is on a baby quilt that I'm sure will get much use. Thanks

I always uase double strand cause it lasts longer espically on a baby quilt it gets washed alot .....

I use single thread for hand stitching the back of my binding. Very small stitches and I take a double stitch after about the 10th stitch. Helps to hold the binding better. Betty Lee

I always use 2 threads and hand binding. Sometimes I will pull back to front and top sew my biscit quilts by mechine to make sure that I have all the edeges sewn together.
