I usually use my folding plastic handled seam ripper. This is great as when I have to do much frogging I am usually in the living room and I can put it in my pocket when I have to answer the phone, finish cooking, or tend to whatever distraction occurs.

I bought extra and gave them away to friends who go to sew-ins a lot.

I have to admit I rarely use the tweezer end but the ripper will slide right under small stitches and cut them with ease. They last for years and I was always able to get them at Hancocks. The last time I went to buy they no longer carried them so a LQS ordered them in for me. Growing up and my early years of sewing we used a single edge razor blade to rip stitches out!
This my favorite too. The blade is thin and slips under stitches easily. The tweezer end is great for pulling out that last bit of thread from a knotted area. It grips anything.
I got my first one at a quilt show and then found them online at Manhatton Wardrobe Supply:

After a number of years of use my first one broke in that the mechanism that holds the ripper from sliding out on its own broke. It still rips fine and I still use it but I bought several more to have on hand so shouldn't be ordering again for years.
