Good luck on breaking her sucking habit. I got both of my kitties at the same time. They are now 6 yo. Emmy my female still wants to suckle. She sucks on my shirts if given a chance. She knows it's not allowed, but can be sneaky. When I catch her I scold her, she holds her ears back, then stops............Until the next time.

My cat Blue is over a year old now, and once in awhile, she sucks on my armpit. She especially loves it when I wear my fuzzy robe. Lately, it's been too hot to wear, but the other night, she had her head in my armpit, and was kneading with her claws OWWW!

This is a common problem with kitties and puppies that are removed from their mothers too soon especially in the runts in the litter. They don't get enough suckling time and aren't prepared for separation from Mom. If they can find skin on you they will suckle. They also suckle on toys or fabric like babies sucking on a silky edge of a blanket. We have a 2 yr. old dog that was the runt that still sicks on a toy just before sleeping.

purrfectly normal for young and early weaned kittens. I had two kittens from the same litter (abandoned) who did this. One stopped quickly, the other persisted for months. Got so I would drift off to sleep as soon as she started. I weaned her by wearing earrings to bed since she preferred earlobes.

I have one that's over 10 years old, and she still sucks on anyone's (human or animal) ears that she can get a hold of. In fact, that's how she got her name...Binky Marie....the whole world is her binky!! Lily is adorable. Congrats on both of the new members to your family.

Mine likes to suck on my wrist. Not very comfortable but it gets her to calm down a little and leave Ko Ko and Yum Yum alone for awhile.

She should grow out of it. We had one kitten who tried to suck on my husband's nipple. It was a nipple on a hairy chest so I guess she figured it was fair game! Laughed so hard I almost wet myself.
