Congrats to you! And, that is a very sad story...maybe it just gives him some comfort knowing it will be used and appreciated so much by you, bless him...I also agree with the idea of you making him a lap quilt or wall quilt sometime...
    Take care,
    Kif

OH WOW! I'm about 45 minutes to 1 hour from you!! My favorite store is the Hancock Fabrics there in Owensboro! They have always been so sweet! (Don't ask me what street it's on....LOL-when I have gone my friend was driving each time. She likes to be the driver when we go....suits me just fine. ;)

I'm in Madisonville. We have 1 small shop here on the south end of town. Notions and Whims. I love it in there! So peaceful! Danna is always very welcoming and awesomely helpful. ;)

If you want to get more bobbins for your new baby, it sounds like your machine takes M size bobbins while our DSMs take L. I would try called Superior Threads and ask them about it - Bob has made it his business to know everything he possibly can about all the LAQM out there.

As for a thank you to the wonderful guy who gave it to you, if he is anything like my dad, the gift of single-serving frozen main dishes would be the most appreciated thank you!

Loving reading about your journey to get to know your LA!

Any idea where to get replacement wheels for that machine. They are the v wheels that run along the track.

Not sure. Have you tried a place where they sell parts for sewing machines/vacuums? Here we have a vac n sew and they can order or find whatever we are needing.

bittersweet... I'm sure it will give him some comfort knowing that his wife's machine will get good use and is appreciated. I'm sure you will enjoy your new machine.
