Ever had someone tell you not to make them a quilt?

My dad always told me I didn't have to make him a quilt but when I did, he was so proud ot it, he took it with him all over for about two weeks to show his friends and family. I think he told me that because he didn't want me to feel that I had to make one for him. He loves it. I used a large farm print. He has farmed all his life.

I bet his first response was the accurate one and he is trying to let you off the hook, so to speak, by saying that he doesn't want one. He might have felt like he was soliciting a quilt and didn't want you to feel put out. I would still make him that quilt.

Perhaps because of kindness and good manners, or perhaps because they like them. They've always got a houseful of friends over. You can walk into the den, and all of the guys (or gals, depending on which child has friends over that day) are wrapped in those quilts.
