I have to laugh a bit because just the other day my DH said "When are you going to make a REAL quilt for our bed?" I said I did.. (It's a raggy quilt that I embroidered 90 blocks). He said "No, I mean a REAL QUILT, the kind that you make without those strings all over it." I guess after I finish up my sons, then do my daughters, I'll be making us one... Men! They can be so pushy!!
Has he voluntered to do any of the cutting?

I have long haired black cat that sleeps in my bed. I have a quilt top made for my bed from the Paris Flea Market and Seaside Rose collections. The two shall never meet!! The cat is old so when she crosses the rainbow bridge I'll finish the quilt.

Hubby has his own room however and has a log cabin quilt on his bed.

After many years of working different shifts and getting disturbed during his "night" we decided he needed a room we could make pitch black during the day so he has his own room.

    I don't own a store-brought quilt-----but I have & use
several that my mother made for us. I have made some
(one strictly for my husband) using all fabrics that he chose that
we use also. But, I understand the comments about making several & having none for self.

Haha good question! I did get hubby to pick out fabrics for a quilt. That's all I've been able to manage in terms of help.

I will admit I sleep under a BB&B comforter, but I thought you had to give all of your family members and loved ones a quilt first before you got one for yourself.........

Sleep under one that I made about 15 years ago. Have made a couple of more for us but someone always comes along that wants them and out the door they go. Guess the only way for me to get one is to quilt in secret and get it on the bed before someone else sees it.

My first large quilt was definitley mine. It was a dresden plate that I hand quilted. I don't use store bought, just pile on another one when it gets cold.
