Just don't tell your kids if they pick up sticks in the yard you will pay them a nickle apiece for each stick! Mine went out and picked up all the sticks and broke them into smaller pieces to make more money!!! LOL

AND water colors. put drops of watercolors on a piece of paper, give kids straws and let them blow the drops around.

with poster paint paper and a box like from a case of soda or water line box w/paper roll a marble in paint and tilt and turn the box it will make a nice pic. use several colors as the colors cross so does the paint.
paper, poster paint...put dops on paper, fold in half and press...remember that from K.
older kids can and help making monograms and put them on tees older sew. My little guy loves to bang nails into a board supervision, he likes to play in the sawdust from the tool shoop, with dumptrucks and card. Small pieces of wood can be stacked and glued to make a totem pole then paint it. for girls add sparkles.
have kids make a time capsule to be opened at 21. add a srting to measure their height, add a survey atout them favorite food, car, person, book, what they want to be, things they love to do, add a photo of them have them put something in there, a story, poem about what a good time they had with you. will write story of our time capsules in a bit.

When a new baby comes our family collects a newspaper, a set of coins with their year on it, a tv guide, a few menus of favorite restaurants. pic of them and family and other mementos. This year we celebrated Elizabeths 21st b'day. In the capsule was a savings bond from her great grandparents and a card written by my mother about how proud she would be of her and how much she loved her and for "Liz to be good. She cried (GG) died when she was 7. A lovely card from her mother of what plans she had for her. growing up being her friend, shopping etc. (her mom passed when she was 16. there were also some pics she made in pre school, K and a few report cards. I have one more to give when Melissa (sis ofLiz) turns 21 in 2 years. I have done this for all the kids and kept the capsules safe for 20 years. Now my neice is keeping them for the next generation. richard7 ..jackson 1 and a new one in july soon. thought youd like to hear this story and maybe start a tradition for yourselves.

OH! How wise you are, and have been. Unfortunately both of the 'moms' in our family have undergone hysterectomy surgery at this point so I cannot do this daily paper, tv guides, but maybe it would be possible to start each of them a special time capsule, starting from where we are today. I did get a great photo of oldest when just a tike while walking (away) holding grandpa's hand, and had picture "transferred" onto a canvas bag. He loves that thing. It was really for his mother, but he still has it hanging in his bedroom today. You are right! These sentimental MEANINGFUL treasures are IMPORTANT! WILL DO!

Oh, these four live together...boys gang up on the girls - know each other maybe too well, when the older boys get a little bossy with the younger/smaller girls! The other granddaughter lives elsewhere, and has no sibblings...but she came to town at the time of the storm's damage so missed getting to see her very much this trip... Those girls have the best time when they do get to spend time together! Wish it could be, but not this visit.
